He protects us and gives us super relationships with our Ashéninka brothers and sisters in Christ. he keeps us well and somehow manages to utilize our labors for His glory, drawing people to Himself. He does what only He can do--save the lost and repair damaged hearts. Most Recently
In May the McAnally Family welcomed home Berta Oyiya Paredes, come to live with us as a part of our family, from Yarina Isla.. Berta, who is Ashéninka, is now going to school in Pucallpa at Colegio Cristiano Peruana Americana, a private Christian school of the church Templo de Alabanza. Berta is a joy to our family and a tremendous blessing. Pray for her continued adjustments to life in the modern world and her schooling, and her adventures as a part of the McAnally and IMB world. Stateside for a Time We returned August 15 from a couple of months stateside. During our Stateside Assignment time we based ourselves in Springfield, MO, where Marty's parents live, and traveled to Houston, South Carolina, and Virginia. While a fast and furious time with little rest, it was a great blessing to be with family and friends. We were also reminded of how blessed we are to have a USA base and so much prayer support from dear friends at home. While the time in the states seemed short, we were glad to get back to Peru and to the ministry we love. Now we resume our work with the Ashéninkas with renewed vigor. Quilmer Ríos spent June and July in the communities of Lagarto, Fundo Libertad, and Tres Islas. In each of those places along the Pichis and Apurucayali Rivers Quilmer taught on discipleship themes and worked with believers toward the start of new churches. Quilmer recently relocated his work with us from the Ucayali River and as of the first of August has resumed his studies at the Swiss Indian Mission in Pucallpa. He is in his second year there and will be in studies until November. Pray for him as he prepares himself for future ministry and for his continued work among the Ashéninka. Currently and Coming Up Marty leaves September 8 for a couple of weeks tracing part of Quilmer's steps along the Pichis River. He will return to Lagarto and Fundo Libertad to continue the development of new churches in those two places. Pray for his teaching, safety, and for the encouragement and strengthening of believers as they plan to form churches. Dena and Jacob and Berta will remain in Pucallpa as the kids are in school.
